16 of "Dads
Army" trooped out to attempt to conquer "Emerald Pool" for the
first time Ruby and Sapphire were the two lakes to be assulted, and as
the time approached there was much talk about baits and tactics to be
used. Money was collected, and it was decided to pay 1st overall
and 1st silvers on both lakes making four payouts.
I drew peg 4 which put me on Ruby, George immediately said I was on a
flyer, as he was the specialist on the venue. In fact 15
out of 16 had hot pegs, the exception being Bolton George, surprise surprise!!!
The lads made their way to their pegs, and the moans started
about stickups and other difficulties another surprise!!? Phil the
Horn had left it at home, so that made myself official starter, and a good toot
was sounded at 10-00.
Sapphire lake fished well right from the off, but Ruby struggled to begin
with. The match was a busy affair, with the majority catching
well, the outcome being our little TREASURE Tony the Fry top of the pile? or
heap? I don't know which.
