Some of you may know that Dick Hurford has not been well of late. It is with deep regret that I have been informed that Dick passed away on Thursday 23rd April.
Many HLS members and members from other clubs would have known Dick for a long time. Although I only knew him for the last couple of years, I found him to be such a character and had the pleasure of listening to his tales whilst taking him to some of the fishing venues where it was too far to cycle and will personally miss taking him fishing.
He was a hard working man, didnt drive and you would often see him turn up at Trininty or Summerhayes with his tackle loaded on his trailor attached to the back of his pushbike, such was his love for angling.
Dick will be missed by all that knew him and our thoughts and sympathy goes to Dick's family at this diffiult time.
