Avalon 21.08.22

 Avalon

Today we’re at the above & a great turn out.

I parked the van up to see Locko Matrix Tony & Guru a fine body of men. Paid my do’s & had a chat with the guys, the lake looked great & the weather was set for perfect conditions for plenty of bites.

It’s a heavy time for me the 6 weeks holiday when my business peaks so 15hr days are the norm, prepping is tough but I do my best.

So to the draw I was the first one in & looked at 43 I’ve never been up this end of the lake so all good, my preparation was limited so I worked with what I had, I tried to keep things very simple - Conker to the island one silvers line & a carp line & a slapping rig.

For company I had Stan to my right & Grandad Pascoe to my left just past them seem to be a good line up of Silvers Anglers Fletch & Rob down running on my right was Sausage John Davies, another good line up.

On the all in I thought I’ll watch & feel my way in, best way to do this was on the tip & go from there. This was quite productive but only small stockies tbf that lasted about an hour. I fed my carp line the same time as my silvers lines to keep every option open. The carp line wasn’t doing anything & the tip had died. Ok let’s concentrate on the Silvers, I could here Grandad P struggling for bites & Fletch didn’t seem to be on fire 🔥 I was getting bites but they weren’t positive actually quite finicky but it was improving over time, sure enough it did it wasn’t rocking the world but it was slow & steady.

I did start to have a bit of banter with Grandad Pascoe & George would pipe up every now & a good glow in the air. I luv it when I say Skill School & Grandad P was the receiver today. I was gob smacked when Danny drove by he’d packed up & given his nugget to Fletch then Colin Lambert drove by aswell wow that’s two ticked off the list. Word was coming up the bank that everyone was struggling one way or another so I thought just keep your head down & keep going 😁 Stan was having sperts of carp then Rob Eagle had packed up. He said to me just keep going - sound advice from a very experienced angler.

The all out was called so what had I done Locky came up through with the scales to admit to 12lb he was joint 2nd with Fletch & I’d done the Silvers I was over the moon on a tricky day to say the least.

Great day see you on all in 2 weeks tight lines 😁👍🎣

Sedges 14.08.22

 Sedges 14.08.22

Not much of a blog for this match as I wasn’t there, I was at Trinity Woodland with Fry’s, fishing their match, my first with this club & yeah went well I was 3rd in there Silvers so more than happy with that….it was tight with the top Silvers at 21.10 & my 3rd with 21.03 I did get smashed me up once to many times at 3.15 I binned the match off then as the sun had done me 🌞

Insidently the Lake record was broken with 300+

By Luke  💪🎣

I spoke to Locky when I got home he told me to hot 🥵 same as everyone including Kingy who I spoke to on the phone yesterday - he wanted to fish the Pellet Wag but couldn’t he had his brolly up for shade, he said things were tough then he started to catch well starting to gain on Jordy who was on the tip catching well - well nothing changes there 😁👍💪 I see Tony Fry done well I reckon he was on the Pellet Wag & Bomb & Pellet.

Yammy doing his bit not a clue what he did but it worked 💪🎣

Avalon this week book in with Guru  & I’ll see you there 😁👍🎣

Trinity Woodlands 07.08.22

 Trinity Woodlands

Nice to see all the guys today, everyone was in good spirit a nice relaxing glow in the air. The weather was set for hot so should all go well, I drew 29 yeah a good carp area I thought, for company I had Stan to my left & Yammy to my right. I set up the bomb & pellet, short was going to be meat, good margins, ground bait & either corn or meat, that was decided on my short line. Long story short I didn’t have a carp until 2 all my fish came from the margins alternating left & right just ticking over to weigh in a disappointing 50lb that was my day lol 😂 everyone seem to be struggling for the first few hours apart from Jordy & Kinger, Jordy was on 6 getting a carp a chuck & Kinger was on 16 I would say he can draw but I drew it for him Ha 🤣🤣💪 I also drew a good peg for Westy pitty I didn’t draw good for myself but at the time I thought that’ll be good Ha shocking 🤣🤣 not really much else to say apart from me & Stan & Yammy all struggled I did do a slapping rig for nothing that’s normally top draw on this venue but not for me today.

Bagger Allen went for Silvers & didn’t disappoint bagging machine, Talking about bagging machines John W pulled it out of the bag again, he seemed to be struggling for a while then he smashed it well done 💪🎣

Sedges next week, I’ll see you the week after at Avalon 👍🎣

Summerhayes 32.07.22

 Summerhayes Longs

This week we were at the above I was quite keen for today as I had to work last week.

As normal I had a chat with my mate Locko before the match to check a few things out & try & find out his plans I also had a word with another friend of mine Tich Williams to see what he may have to say, any info is always good when you can only fish once a week at best this time of the year.

I’d already sort of sorted my day & it was confirmed when I spoke to the guys, I got there & there was already a few there heck there keen today, Yammy was dancing all round the car park like he does full of excitement for his day 🎣🎣 the lake did look like the water level was down but it did look in good order as per, I had a quick chat with John W he’s always good for a few tips, I did fancy drawing next to him as I like his style of fishing.

Me & Danny took the money & done the admin for the day, everyone was in agreement to 9.45 - 15.45 On to the draw & me Dan had the last Two I got 4 & he had 34, on arrival I had Locky on 2 & Jordy Searle a couple up so I was going to get battered - well so I thought.

Locky said we got no chance around here shag do you want a nugget on it, we’ll that was the game changer the challenge if you like - of course I replied - Game on.

Peg 4 looked ok tbf I had a bay across I could chuck a small method in, a empty platform to my left so yeah all good 😊

The all in was sounded & Locko was straight in on the method there were tails everywhere across from him he then had another & another, writings on the wall I was gonna get hammered.

I started on the method I also had 3 pints of maggots for a 2X2 line & a bait bag with alternative’s to go to if I needed them, down the edge was simple because of the depth being a foot & a bit all over the swim it was a no brainer to have GB.

I caught a few on the method across the maggot line wasn’t prolific as thought it may of been tbf also the edge rig for the platform wasn’t happening as they kept doing me lol 😂 my right edge was the banker.

I could see Locky doing ok I could also see Jordy doing well swapping things about all the time, I guessed Jordy would be framing, I could see Rog he didn’t seem very active, Fletch was on the carp complain he had no rigs left as he was smashed up all day, he couldn’t go to the Sedges open as he had no gear left haha 😂 so the all out was called & who’s got the mighty Nugget lol 😂 Scales went to Locky first then came to me, I said what you got he said you way in first Shag lol 😂 I put 67ish on them & that was enough to do my mate lol 😂 I did do a little Jig for the bragging rights lol 😂 it was a good day as always surrounded by great company 😁🎣💪

See you at the AGM Friday boys 👍👍🎣🎣 have a good week..
