 Summerhayes Longs 27.03.22

Sorry guys there’s no blog this week, I did intend to fish it, I arrived all prepped & the van loaded all ready however once I unloaded the van grabbed my nets I had to go I didn’t feel like it one bit. My mum recently passed away near enough the same time as my wife mum passed a year ago to the day.. So home i went to show my wife strength for her.. Family come first always..

I’m away for the weekend this week so again it will just be the Weight Sheet 👍🎣

Tight Lines.. The 10th April is our first visit to Covey Fisheries so eyes down hopefully for a different blog 😁😁🎣🎣🎣

Trinity Woodlands, Silvers League 13.03.22

 Shaun,

Here is what we wrote.

“We are now into our second match of the 6 match Silvers league.  The first was at Shiplate with anticipation running high as previous matches were recording 50-40-30 pound weights but on the day we were faced with a bitter North East wind which pushed the weights down to 13-10 for Rob who won on the day and the rest of the wights were pretty low.  Disappointing with this being one of the best venues on our circuit.

This week we fished Trinity.  During setting up the weather was fine, but as soon as the whistle went the heavens opened and it stayed like that all day.  R. Coles was top weight with 16-7 of good skimmers all caught on the tip with worm.  Well done mate.

After 2 matches the standings are still very close with all to play for.  Good luck boys on the next match at Avalon.”

Regards

Andy

Trinity Woodlands 13.03.22

 Trinity Woodlands 13.03.22

This week we’re at another favourite with the club Woodlands & this week it’s the second match of the Silvers League, most of the guys have opted for this series so Silvers we’re the main target.

We had some feedback over the last few weeks & the lake is fishing very hard tbf it always does in the winter when the temperatures drop out of the water & the matches go on with pressure on the water, today was no exception.

When I arrived in the carpark it was great to see Guru & Locko back from their hols abroad it was like something out of Charlie & the chocolate factory two little Umpa Lumpa’s I felt like Willy Wonka ha. The picture will say it all 😁😁

Fletch had his new Matrix suit on apparently his wife told him if it’s over £200 it’s your funeral suit for the coffin 🤣🤣🤣 Love him 🖤🖤

Also it was nice to see Matrix Tony back, on to the draw this time Westy & Kingy put in a couple of pegs that we don’t normally include 16 & 19 two great pegs.

My hand went in the bucket to reveal 19 Awsome that’s got to be good but how did it go ??

It was out of the wind & it looked great when I got there 😁🎣 so 13m in front & 2 8m lines left & right I had for my side tray 2 pints of maggots & a couple of pints of Gb plus some expanders a bit of micro, back up hookers would be worms & corn the corn stayed in the bag.

I had 18 & 20 free.

At the all in I just fed maggots with small nuggets of Gb one line at a time hoping to start to rotate as I started on the long line, the fishing really was hard going & tbf the rotation was hard as bites were hard to come. I could only see Matrix Westy Kinger & Hobbit Yammy the far bank did seem to be fishing as hard as my peg so all to go for. The rain came & it poured down the wind picked up it was horrible & the bites were still hard to come by, oh I could see Richy Cole’s he was having intervals of Silvers on the cage feeder 👏👏 Danny was to my left I couldn’t see him but I did manage to see him hook into a few carp & land them 👏👏 the weather settled for a while & the gust broke a little bit soon enough the rain returned at 13.30 ish & again poured down,  come 15.00 I’d had enough I’m done it was relentless.

As I called it a day I could see Guru packing away & Graham had gone he must of had the brains today to do the most sensible thing.

Soon as I got everything into the van I went & seen Dabber Selway he was talking of 9lb 👏👏 as the all out was called.

As per Westy Kingy & Danny came round with the scales, Westy weighed me in & said you’ve done both of us so you’ve got the bragging rights 👏👏👏 to myself on a hard day for the Silvers, I was once told by my old Mentor & good mate Tich Williams if all you can catch is Roach nothing else is feeding - yep that was the case today, let’s hope for some sun this week to get things moving in the water 🎣🎣

For me the Silvers league has finished as I’ve had a last minute phone call Monday evening from a good mate of mine Nigel Coram - Callum as he was known through the club, he’s given me an invitation to go to White Acres for the week. So unfortunately I’m going to miss Avalon this week, I will of course put up the sheet.

Next week Avalon as normal you have to book in by Tuesday 👍🎣

Silvers League 06.03.22

Shiplate 06.03.22

First Silvers League today - a very interesting read.

This is a temporary format

sheet until me & Andrew Danny’s son work out the best format as the weeks continue

Shiplate, Mainlake 06.03.22

 Shiplate Main Lake

This week we’re at the Shiplate Main-lake definitely a favourite with the members, a well kept lake & bursting with all specimens a great head of Silvers & Carp (some proper units)

This was the first of our second Silvers League to be ran by Danny.

In the carpark I met Ducky Junior shortly followed by Yammy & Bagger Newell spelt your name right this time Tony it’s only took me over a year 🤣🤣🤣

Westy passed me & gave me a Cheaky grin whats that all about?? Ha

I sat with Kinger & Ducky, we did the pools previous to that Westy & Kingy did the pegs..

On to the draw & me & couple others opted for a short walk as I’ve done my foot now & struggle to walk - only temporary I’d like to add I don’t know what’s going on with me lately I seem to be falling apart lol 😂

I drew peg 7 not a good peg at all as I was about to find out for next 6 hrs to my right was Jordy Searle & 2 pegs down was Rob eagle 2 pegs up on 5 was Fletch, I do like George a great Angler especially for Silvers I like him so much I gave him some of my expanders as his weren’t ready. He said to Shawn Kenstridge what a good guy I am 🤣🤣👍👍

The blog is a bit of rubbish really same as my days fishing.

Peanut - Stevie Howell said go down the right for some better Skimmers I did 12 Metres for some roach that was about it same as in front 12 M to the left Maggots over Gb & to the right Corn over Corn for not a touch the Maggots line gave me 1 Skimmer & some Roach. I did set up a cage feeder to chuck about for nothing.

Everything I did today was Silvers orientated for what good it done me, Jordy was fishing for Carp on the tip chucking to the island for nothing not even a liner. It was pretty cold 🥶 today with a savage wind ENE which obviously played a big part on today’s activities. So after a full 6 hrs a complete waist of time for bang 2lb.

The other side seem to be more productive which was my way of thinking but I couldn’t manage the walk tbf that was my down side 👎👎👎🎣🎣.. The sheet says it all..

On to the next at Trinity I think that’ll probably be a lot better & the gaps could tighten up & some anglers may pull something back I certainly hope I can get a few lb back we’ll see.  I will put the League sheet up soon as Danny emails it across.

See you next week not sure on spaces you’ll have to check with Shaner 😁👍🎣
