Avalon 17.03.24

 Avalon

Where to start it was a very tough going day to say the least..

The rain ☔️ seems a norm nowadays & it lashed it down all night the weather forecast was ok for today then it took a down turn then it was a good forecast, I was awake super early & the rain was hammering down. I met Guru & Matrix Ton at Macy D’s then straight over to Avalon after a nice catch up with the guys - on to the draw 44 was mine for the day.

Most carp anglers would dive to this one & I did it was solid across carp topping - Nice.

On 43 was Matrix Ton & 42 was Bagger Newell, Tony seemed quite happy with 43 again a good carp peg & known for Silvers but Bagger wasn’t that confident with his 42 he kept his dignity & said he would do his best & I thought you’ll frame 👍ðŸŧ💊 My outlook was the tip across a couple Silvers lines just incase & one down the edge again looking for more quality Silvers.

Matrix set up the tip & a wag I thought the wag might be worth a shout, Baggers outlook what I could see was the tip to the island & a rig down the edge, he’d fished the open on Thursday & done good for second 😎

The all in at 10 I had a carp first chuck that’s not good for me a kiss of death normally however I did get another on the second chuck & that was it tbf I concentrated on this far to long infact until 1 o’clock & ignored my silver fishing 🙄 what a mistake long story short I went for Silvers on the second part of the match..

Matrix was on the tip & struggling he then went on the wag for two quick carp they were there but not interested they were coming up for the pellets but not his hooker he played between the tip & wag all day he stuck to his guns.

Bagger had a few & lost a few Unfortunately but again he stuck with it at one point he was up the tree even the best of us go to a tree at times ðŸĪŠ I went down the edge & hooked some great fish a carp & another & another & so on couldn’t get them out one was in the mouth deffo not sure about the rest.

Mike Bendall stopped by & we a good chat top guy & angler lovely to see him, when he came back at 1 o’clock nothing was happening down the line he said apart from George getting stuck into the Silvers.

On the weigh  in I asked  Danny how he went, he said he went down the edge for 14lb of bits I also asked Rob Eagle how he caught he said the wag & feeder I was surprised Guru didn’t weigh in as I heard he had 3 carp.

Turned out to be a nice day I won my side bets & it was ok I learnt a few things there for later in the year so all good.

I’ve put myself on the reserve list for Shiplate but I’m not sure as I’m at Plantation’s on Saturday for a match so we’re see.

I’m not around the week after that but I will publish the sheet.

Have a great week & tight lines guys 😃👍ðŸŧðŸŽĢ

Woodlands 10.03.24

 Trinity Woodlands

Sorry no blog as I couldn’t get motivated to do this one after the last match there.

But seeing the result sheet looks like its normal for this time of year with the carp starting to wake up hopefully it will fish 🐠 well in the coming weeks, got to say I do like it there - it’s a great fishery. Hopefully I’m doing Avalon this week so there will be a write up, Tight Lines 😁ðŸŽĢ

03.03.24 Summerhayes

 Summerhayes- Longs

So here we go again the blog is officially back woop woop 🙌 I’ve  always enjoyed doing it tbf..

This weekend was meant to be a flat out weekend of matches but doom struck & I could only do the Sunday I was also meant to be at Avalon on the Saturday for a Silvers league with the Watchet Guys.

5.15am my alarm goes off wake up it’s match day 😃 I’d already sorted my bait on the Saturday so not much to do just re-riddle the Gb & riddle my maggots off boy do I luv clean maggots plus I had to dye them so about 15 minutes & I was done the van was loaded & happy dayz, time for my quota of tea normally about 4 mugs on any morning before I leave the house including work ðŸĪĢðŸĪĢ

I met Locko Stan & Beardsy at Gregg’s they had their breakie baguettes etc far too early for me to eat.

So on to longs when we pulled in the car park it was pritty much full I had a good chat with Bagger Allen about are trip to White Acres coming & how far away our caravans are going to be from the club house ðŸĪŠðŸŧ

A quick catch up with Matrix Tony & on to the draw for 34 I dont fish longs that much to know what’s what I do prefer Sellicks tbf to my left I had Jordy Searle & Bagger Knewll to my right a couple down was Matrix Tony followed by the Guru & then the Silvers guys Rob Eagle & Bagger Allen just off the corner was Locky & Dave tunts so a good line up.

My outlook was decided before I even got there with the frost & a sunny day Carp !!! Dobbing & maybe some half depth - well that sort of changed after 50 minutes in - one carp which I lost on a hook pull that’s me rushing I don’t know why ?

So I started my lines - feeding around 11.15 couldn’t see Eric catching or Tony or Matrix but I did see catching carp was my buddy Lee Merritt a class angler tbf he was in the corner known for carp on the left..

I started to get really small dinks & the smaller the dink the better stamp it was of skimmer I was hooking carp in between & again hook pulls I should be a master of hook pulls if I netted all the hook pulls I have I’d do alright.

Even tho the sun was out it was tricky seeing the brissle doted down, previously I’d bought some new Preston sun glasses & yesterday they saved me I could see every dink - nice 😊

So all I done all day was rotate three lines at 14m keeping all of them fed at different times a bit of a concentration zone but I managed it & luved it - it was a great day on the bank & great company, I could see Lee catching most of the day, Jordy started to pick the beat right up proper giving me neck ache didn’t see Bagger knewll on em like he normally is infact I couldn't see much, George didn’t seem to be doing much & neither did Gringe but he was down the edge most of the day like a Heron literally didn’t move ðŸĪĢðŸĪĢ I thought I was doing ok on the Silvers & if the carp did move in & I could have a run of them all to play for so it was a really interesting day as my buddy would say Kinger luv winter ðŸĨķ fishing your never out of it..

Trinity next week now that is an interesting question not to sure myself but I’ll probably be there but what to do on the day hmmm ?? That’s fishing ðŸŽĢ really looking forward to the spring as I have a match Saturday & Sunday all the way through to Autumn 🍂

Tight lines & see you Sunday please bare with me on the wright up it’ll get better & more in depth with most just warming up 😎👍ðŸŧðŸŽĢ
