Sunday 8th May, and the
venue was Summerhays on Long Lake.
23 arrived at the car
park on a warm pleasant day, all speculating on what the catch would be.
Money taken and paid, the draw was made, giving me peg 17, I was not a happy
bunny. On my left was Cockerel Lambert (Spurs supporter!!!!}, and to
my right Bend It Bendell, looking very prosperous by the size of his stomach? Toots has
a new pole, and there was much speculation on how long before the
first breakage would occur, this caused a laugh, followed by sponsorship
talk , which would expel him from the club!! here here.
The Shakespearean Bummer
boy toots, and the match gets underway. Big Bird drew the Golden
Peg again, but not much came from peg 5. Mike next to me fished
well, getting small carp on the inside while fighting with the rushes. But
the roadside swims were favourable, and at the weigh in it proved correct, 1st
2nd and 3rd overall, and top silvers coming from these pegs.
