What a change in the weather, the sun was shining, not much wind,
and nine degrees; he must be looking down on Dad's Army. Ten of us
fished, all in good cheer, parting with their ackers, George rather reluctantly
The business was completed and it was time for the draw.
Danny chose the pegs, the golden one was number eleven, which was drawn
by Rob. We were well spread out, and hoped for a reasonable
catch. Only one of the ten was fishing for carp, no surprise
it was Ninja Eric.
I got seventeen with Mustard on my right, who still has not got a
pole! Three pegs to my left was the Nasty Old Sheriff.
At the all in, from the start it was a repeat of Sunday, with lots
of small roach on a single maggot. Mustard was catching a little
better quality with caster, and the Sheriff was getting his usual good bag on
peg twenty.
The guys were strangely quiet, maybe because they were spread out,
or could it be they were catching fish. At the all out , it was
pack up and on with the scales. I was expecting a close finish.
Ninja on peg twenty caught all the carp in the match, and took
overall with 22lbs 6ozs The silvers were won by Danny, just 2ozs in
front of Rob on the golden peg, and 3ozs in front of me, with all the other
weights close behind; a proper match. Full results below.
On
Sunday it's Sedges, and next Wednesday we return to Trinity.
