Twenty one members
arrived all chattering away, with nobody really knowing what they were talking
about!!! A load of Ed Balls I think.
Steve and Carol made us
welcome, and we sorted 20 pegs for the match. John Newell, our very
senior member, was not fishing the match, so Carol let him fish for FREE; the
HLS club appreciated this little gesture, and we thank you.
Treasure took
the money, so next was the draw with two Golden Pegs numbers 13 and
3A. I drew 13 and Gerge 3A, both of us going for silvers, it turned
out neiher of us were good enough.
Weatherwise the low
numbers benifited fishing in relative calm, while the high numbers
suffered a strong, easterly, very cold wind.
Horny tooted, and from
the off I was catching small roach just over the ledge at eight
metres. I had a very busy day for 12lbs 8ozs,. all caught on a
single maggot. Everyone caught some fish, but it was always going
to be a difficult day. The plus being , as the results show, the fish
were spread around the lake, pegs 14,2, and 9A in the first three places overall,
and pegs 6,15 and 13A the silvers.
Winter has arrived, and
I believe this will lead to more even results, making it in my opinion, more
like match fishing, as todays results show.
Our next venue is
Trinity, Woodlands on Wednesday. As the road is marked closed, Tony will be at the road to
make sure you all get through; arrangements have been made with
the contractors, so please turn up. Sunday it's Avalon, don't forget the
clocks go back!!!! The draw is still 9-0 o'clock
