Wednesday 16th September 2015 - Landsend Match Lake

Ten of Dads Army turned up smartly dressed, it was good to see Simon Garbutt (Private Pike), one of our younger recruits!!

I drew peg 1, a renowned carp residence, and so it proved. After six hours of toil, three hours trying for silvers, the last 1/2 hour in the pouring rain. I weighed in 78lbs 10ozs of which 11lbs were silvers, enough to win overall but only by 6ozs over young Pike, hard luck to him.  A really good match.  Bolton George wins the silvers with the same weight as myself 11ozs, lucky George.

The weigh in was a miserable affair, the rain pouring down, paperwork getting soaked etc.  Many thanks to  Simon for his help, but I must say the spirit of the lads was not dampened; so here's to the next one at Summerhays Sellick

Until then

Chair Bob
